At Pagoda Lab, one of our main focuses is getting involved with the local community and showing support for organizations whose mission and values align with ours.
This past week we attended the Cultural Roots Night Market at History Colorado, an event dedicated to celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander heritage through the sharing of food, festivity, art, and more. The event is a collaboration with the Japanese Arts Network and Asian Pacific Islander (API) community, and part of the opening celebrations of the interactive art exhibition "Colorado’s Asian Food Culture: Rice and Resilience," which highlights the rich Asian Food Culture of Colorado and the important connection that food has to culture and history. The exhibit features both visual art and storytelling, using both to dive into the presence and impact of Asian culture and food in the Colorado community, and we are so excited to go back to see it.
Being an Asian and minority-owned business, we were thrilled to have the opportunity to participate in this event and meet so many wonderful individuals, many of whom are also small business owners. The event itself brought in over 200 attendees and featured 30+ vendors. Everything was beautifully set up, and it was such a great experience to meet so many business owners of various backgrounds from all over Colorado.
We had the pleasure of meeting with the owner of Osaka Ramen, Sushi Rama and Empire Lounge, Mr. Jeff Osaka and Teri with TeriyakiTime, bringing delicious snacks and great anime designs to share at the event. We also want to give a huge shout out and thank you to Kim Bannick with Toute Doucher Candy coming and helping with set up and tear down and of course, sharing her amazing chocolates with everybody! Kim has recently become more involved with the Pagoda Lab team, and we are so excited to work alongside her.
This event was also our first opportunity to introduce our Hyped Boxes in person, and we received an overwhelming amount of support and enthusiasm from everyone who stopped by. We will be attending many more events in the future, to meet with small business owners and share our vision for helping small businesses with the local community.
